The thermal imaging camera we use allows us to detect inflamed areas on the horse’s body and allows us to visibly see the reduction in temperature posttreatment

Thermography is a qualitative assessment of temperatures.  The thermal imaging camera measures temperature automatically and reveals an image with different colors for different temperatures

A “hot spot” indicates inflammation or increased circulation and is generally seen in the skin directly overlying an injury or stressed area.

The colorcoded view from the thermal imaging camera also identifies cold spots, indicating poor circulation
